For the love of OKC

Our city founders dreamed of a vibrant, thriving city from day one. Beginning with the Land Run of 1889, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce has been building infrastructure and community to invite the world to realize their dreams in Oklahoma City.

Our greatest hype-man, Stanley C. Draper, dreamed big in his 49 years at the chamber. Thanks to Mr. Draper, we have Tinker AFB, The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the FAA Center, Hefner Lake and Lake Stanley Draper. Never has anyone believed so strongly in his city and worked tirelessly to elevate her in the eyes of the world.

So it’s only fitting that Explore OKC, the biggest hype-tour of Oklahoma City, join forces with the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. We are two organizations with identical outcomes — telling others why Oklahoma City is great, fun, promising, fruitful, grounded, enriched, and creative. Be on the lookout for a shiny new chamber badge at exploreokc.fun to officially highlight our membership.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Derek Villanueva, a chamber descendent of Mr. Draper, if you will. Derek invites Oklahoma City business to connect, build each other up, create a stronger city, and succeed together. Explore OKC is happy to join others to tell our great story and welcome all people in.

Derek Villanueva and Sarah Horton at Zero Tolerance Coffee

Derek and I talked about tours of Oklahoma City, fun things to do in Oklahoma City, exploring Oklahoma, and all of the big events in Oklahoma City. Also, the way Explore OKC is the perfect fit for introducing investors to Oklahoma City along with people relocating to Oklahoma City. I don’t know if we can legitimately say we are at the same level as Stanley Draper, but for the love of OKC, Derek and I definitely share a passion for our great city.
