New Tour of Oklahoma City

Oklahoma Black Living Legacy is making a big splash for Black History Month by launching their new app-guided tour of Oklahoma City. Look for Oklahoma City Legacy Tours in the Google Play app store beginning February 15th.

Historical photos offer insights into the past for important context around the sites. Start your adventure by choosing between the walking tour or the driving tour. The walking tour includes detailed directions to fourteen stops in the city center. The driving tour expands to thirty-five stops including neighborhoods and cultural landmarks.

The app will guide you to discover the rich history and the vibrant Black culture of Oklahoma City. Explore Oklahoma City's birthplace of jazz, influential neighborhoods, businesses, and entertainment venues that shaped the city's Black cultural heritage. The app brings to life historic neighborhoods, and legacies through immersive audio, photos, and detailed narratives, exploring at your own pace. OKC Legacy Tour is perfect for history buffs, culture enthusiasts, and anyone interested in Oklahoma City's unique legacy.

The Haywood Building, purchased by Dr. W.L. Haywood in 1938, is one of the historic sites on the Oklahoma City Legacy Tours. The building is located in Oklahoma City’s once Black economic and entertainment district known as Deep Deuce.
